March 15 - 19

Current Project: Repeated Paper Sculpture Motifs

Journal Project: Creating Form in pencil

  • Monday: Discuss progress on paper sculptures. Talk about what is working and what is not. Discuss form in 2-D and give out journal assignment.
  • Tuesday: Critique paper sculptures and last journal entry.
  • Wednesday: View sculptors work on power point and introduce rest of the lesson. Begin drawing the motifs based off the Notan project. Work on journals.
  • Thursday: Begin cutting out the notan motifs from poster board, focusing on craftsmanship.
  • Friday: Complete journal assignment and turn in.
Journal Assignment: On the same page, make and complete a 0-9 value scale. Then using a paper curl as a model, draw the paper curl beginning with shape first, and then adding value to give it form. Don't forget to add the negative space. Due on Friday, March 20th.
